Here, the assignment was to design two display cases for two Flemish masterpieces: the bozzetti by Lucas Faydherbe (1617/1697). These are 17th-century terracotta reliefs that served as designs for the monumental reliefs in the Basilica of Our Lady of Hanswijk in Mechelen. We opted for two staggered volumes, the upper one made of mirrored stainless steel to create a reflective interplay with the rest of the church. The lower volume houses the techniques that ensure moisture control.
