FOMU ANTWERP
15 october 2011 - 29 january 2012
In collaboration with the Antwerp Fashion Museum, this exhibition featured a selection from the New York Fashion & Art Magazine Visionaire. This magazine is trendsetting, a little decadent at times, but invariably uncompromising and luxurious. International fashion designers, art directors and top photographers, including Peter Lindbergh, collaborated on it.
Visionaire was founded in 1991 by James Kaliardos, Cecilia Dean and Stephen Gan. The magazine has since become a coveted item for collectors and is published three times a year in a limited and numbered edition of about three thousand copies.
Each issue is an art object and an overall project in which various disciplines such as fashion, photography, art, design and music are juxtaposed and treated equally. Thus, Visionaire pushes the boundaries of the concept: magazine, making each issue unique through its extravagant design and the themes invoked.
We provided a very simple scenography in which the works were shown to their best advantage.
