Mechelen's theater heritage: from script to prop

Using the treasures and interviews as a starting point, we built an exhibition on the recent history of the 7 theater companies. The city archives supplemented that treasure trove with theater texts, program booklets and posters dating back to the 19th century. In turn, the Preachers linked all those topics, pieces and stories to its rich book collection.

The result: a unique exhibit about each company's actors, performances and even balls and mussel parties. Costumes and set pieces are not missing either, of course. And to make everything complete, you'll find surprises in several book racks that you can link to the exhibition.
