Begijnhofkerk Sint-Truiden
08 09 2019 - 31 10 2019
For all its austerity, the Agnesbegijnhof church in Sint-Truiden is world-class and recognised by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The simplicity, the beautiful acoustics, the abundant light in the high choir, the murals. How to make this beautiful place experienced by the blind and visually impaired?
A special printer was used to print swell paper so that blind museum visitors could “see” drawings of the paintings with their fingers. No, no flashy computer simulation.
Similar fabrics of the robes worn by the figures in the murals can be touched. An overview of the church in 3D lets visitors experience the rooms.
