Composites on Tour

The exhibition was part of a European project: Composites-on-tour. During the summer months op 2002, Professor Verpoest of the KU Leuven toured Europe with the Composit trailer. He introduced the general public to the possibilities and characteristics of composite materials. The aim of the Composites-on-Tour project was to confront the general public with the question whether and how science can change their daily life. In this project, composite materials served as the example of a recent, research based innovation that has strongly shaped and influenced our environment.
We turned all kinds of tests into tactile objects that should explain the importance of composites.
