After his death in 1907, the collection of historical Limburgensia of Doctor Bamps became dispersed throughout Europe in various (private) collections and museums. A team of Het Stadsmus, under the inspiration of Jo Rombouts, traced part of this collection. The search led to the Bibliothèque National (Paris).
